I didn’t plan on becoming a medium. I blame my mom.
After losing my mom to cancer as a teenager, I found myself visiting psychics and mediums, hoping to feel like she was still there with me.
Some readings felt meaningful, but others felt like educated guesses. I wanted honesty and real connection.
In my 40’s, I was busy living life with parenting, substitute teaching, and managing everyday responsibilities.
Parenting my kids was my ultimate dream “job,” and I loved it. I hadn’t thought about another one until one afternoon on a weekend getaway. My cousin, while we were flipping through a "Book of Questions" prompts, asked the rest of us what our ultimate dream jobs would be.
She urged me to think of another dream job… just for fun.
After contemplating this for a few moments, I answered, “If we're dreaming, and anything is possible, I would want to connect with spirit to help people, especially with their loved ones who have passed away.”
I told my cousin, “If I were doing it myself, I would know for sure whether I was actually connecting with my mom.”
We laughed. It sounded so unrealistic.
Fast forward five years.
It was during quarantine, and I was feeling anxious and restless. I tried a virtual group Reiki session one evening. I felt intense energy and saw colors that intrigued me.
As soon as the next day, I was diving deeper into learning about Reiki.
I began listening to podcasts, watching YouTube videos, and even taking online classes. It wasn't long before I discovered the Akashic Records, too.
They brought me so much peace in a stressful time. Although I had read tarot cards as a hobby over the years, these spiritual tools made me feel like a whole new world had opened up to me.
I was hooked.
How I Went From Skeptic To Medium - Starting Mystic Energy™ with Nancy
Eventually, after a lot of learning and consistent practice, I became a Reiki practitioner and Akashic Records reader myself.
One day, many months later, I was reading the Akashic Records for a practice partner. By that point, I had begun speaking the messages out loud instead of simply writing them down.
Halfway through the session, she stopped me.
The words I was using, the rhythm of my speech, even my tone and subtle mannerisms reminded her so strongly of her departed grandmother that she felt as if her grandmother were in the room.
It felt surreal.
That same week, during a session with another practice partner, it happened again. She recognized the messages seemed to be coming from her loved one in spirit.
I was still a little skeptical, but this woman, who was herself a medium, looked at me and explained, "You don’t have to be born knowing you have "it"... mediumship skills can be developed."
That’s when it clicked.
Spirit had helped me realize my goal in a quiet, unexpected way...sneaky, even...and I mean that in the best possible sense.
I realized my once seemingly impossible wish had come true.
I dove into mediumship classes soon after, and with continued learning and practice, including late nights, lots of journaling, consistent practice and plenty of guidance from mentors, I became a medium. (And, like any professional, I’m always evolving and developing my skills.)
Eventually, I founded Mystic Energy™ with Nancy so others could experience the kind of spiritual connection I once only hoped for myself.
Now I help spiritually curious people find reassurance, perspective, and connection when they feel stuck, grieving, or unsure of their next step. My readings and energy sessions offer calm support for people who want clarity and healing in a unique way.
Because my spiritual path unfolded later in life, after raising my kids and being an educator for years, I have a practical, grounded approach. One-on-one sessions, group gatherings and classes feel relaxed, supportive, and nurturing without fear-based or heavy spiritual language.

What is a Medium?
Friends often ask, “So what is it you actually do? What IS a medium?"
Most people come because they’re stuck, grieving, or just need a little clarity. We take a few deep breaths and then open up to spirit to meet you right there. There’s no judgment, just support.
Mediumship is about connecting with loved ones who have passed to share messages of love, reassurance, and healing. You’ll get what Spirit wants you to hear in a calm, supportive way.

What happens during a session with a Medium
When you book a session with me as your medium, here's what happens:
1. We connect: We begin with a brief conversation so I can understand what you hope to gain from the session.
2. Brief guided meditation: I guided you through a very short meditation to create a safe, calm, and relaxed space.
3. Messages come through: I connect with one or more of your loved ones in spirit and share the insights, stories, and guidance they have for you.
When you leave your session, my goal is to ensure you leave with more clarity, comfort, perspective, and reassurance. This might look like more knowing that they are around you, guidance about what to do next, and/or even a renewed sense of peace and connection that stays with them day-to-day.
What are Akashic Record Readings?
Mediumship isn’t all that I offer, though.

“The Akashic… what?”
The Akashic Records are a spiritual realm, like a spiritual library, many say, that holds the energetic history of your soul.
Think of it like a spiritual book of your soul. Your book contains your past lives, experiences, thoughts, and feelings, all offering insight for your life right now. It includes the past, present, and future possibilities.
I access this information through a prayer to bring you guidance around relationships, projects, next steps, and life transitions.
It’s an empowering spiritual tool to understand yourself and your next steps.
Sometimes Spirit helps someone weigh the pros and cons of a move; other times, it gives unexpected guidance on a project or life decision. Either way, the messages are practical, personal, and meant to help you move forward.
When I connect you with your Spirit Team, your ancestors, loved ones, guides, angels, and spiritual teachers, it’s like sitting down with someone who already knows you. They get you, they see the whole story, and they share insight without overwhelming you.
