Time and time again, one message keeps coming through in readings. Find out what it is, why most of us don't listen, and how we can change that. Plus, find out about the new, free ME Challenge that you can join to help you feel better and raise your vibration!

Do you know one of the song lyric messages Spirit has given most often in my Akashic Records readings lately?

🎵Stop dragging [your] heart around 🎵

I've always interpreted this as the following: Pause and make time for more joy in your life.

Does this shock you?

Probably not.

When I channel this message in my Akashic Records readings, people usually respond to this with saying "Yes, I know I need to do that."

We know that a moment of joy can lift our vibration. If we do several moments throughout the day, it makes sense that it will add up to make our energy lighter and happier.

“The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.”Nicolas Chamfort

Excuses, Excuses

Just doing something we love each day should be easy. But why don't we find time for joy every day?

  • Think of it in the morning, but by bedtime we're too tired or we’ve forgotten to make time for it

  • Other priorities take precedent and we feel like we shouldn’t take a quick break for something joyful or fun until we’re done

  • Put other people's joy before our own

  • Feel we're too old to do things like color with crayons or build a card tower

  • Habitually scroll through social media on our phone in our free time instead even though it often leaves us feeling no better than before we started

And the excuses could go on. "We’ll do it later," we tell ourselves. "It’s not a big deal to put it off," we think. I get it. I’m guilty of making all these excuses, too.

But days go by and we don’t make the time to do something unless it's scheduled on our calendar with friends or family. These days, with lots of heaviness around, it is so important to pause and make the time for yourself every day. It only takes a few minutes.

Joy Guides

Years ago, I learned we each have our own joy guide near us. Each joy guide is a spiritual, childlike energetic being that tries to boost our morale and happiness. In a recent Spirit Guide course, our homework instructed us to connect with our joy guides daily. Each morning, I set an intention for the day of how I would bring joy into my day. Sometimes it was a quick activity, other days it was something longer. It was fun to do! Whether it was coloring a mandala, dancing to a song in the kitchen, or going on the swing at a park, I noticed my mood improved. It was fun to hear the things the others did, too, like blowing bubbles, playing hopscotch, enjoying a new herbal tea, painting, and buying fresh flowers.

The point I learned is that it can be simple, but so effective at bringing a little happiness into the day. You don't have to connect with a joy guide to do it. It doesn’t have to take much time. Skip into the kitchen for lunch. Sing at the top of your lungs in the shower.

New Moon, New M.E. Joy Challenge

The new moon is a perfect time to start your new “joy habit” in your life. New intentions like this get a little extra “umph” when you begin them on the new moon. This new moon is the ideal time to kick things off! Of course, you can begin ANY time. The important thing is to just take that first step to do something joyful today. It's the quick hack to make you feel better!

Having trouble coming up with ideas of things to do? I’ve created a free, downloadable M.E. Joy Challenge chart pdf to for you with fun ways to incorporate joy. It's a way to make tracking your joy easier.

  • Pick one to do each day in ANY order

  • Color it in or 'X' it out when you’re done

  • Use the blank M.E. Joy Challenge chart to personalize with your own ideas or record activities after you do them

  • Rate them afterwards on a scale of 1-10 of how they made you feel so you know which ones to include the next cycle

Tag your joyful moments with the hashtag #MEjoy so our M.E. tribe can see ways you're finding joy this moon cycle and get inspired.

As a bonus, take notes on the chart or keep a tiny joy journal of things you did or unexpected instances that made you smile, so you can look back on it when you’re feeling low.

Let's see if it becomes a habit of routinely incorporating joy into your life! My bet is your outlook and mood will have improved by the next moon cycle, too. Your vibration will be higher. And who doesn't want that?

So, how will you find a little joy today?

A Step-By-Step Guide to Your First Virtual Reiki Experience

I remember the first time I experienced reiki remotely. It was the first time I had experienced reiki…ever. I had only heard about it briefly, but people had said it felt wonderful! I was excited to try it. I wasn’t sure how to get ready for the appointment and didn’t have any idea of what would happen during the session. As I rested on the sofa listening to the music while the practitioner did something on her end, I remember wondering if I was supposed to have done something else beforehand and spent the time analyzing every little thing that was happening. The session was ok, but it could have been a lot more relaxing had I been a little more prepared. Now that I know what to do, I go into sessions more at ease and leave feeling even better. Here’s a quick, step-by-step guide to help you so that your session is the best it can be!

Before the Session

1. Information
  • Send in the completed waiver.

  • Determine your intention. Are you facing a physical challenge? Do you have a health goal? Do you want to feel rejuvenated and less stressed? This can help improve the connection.

2. Location
  • Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.

  • Decide if you prefer to be seated or recline. I prefer to lie down on my sofa. I have a client who likes to sit on a bench under her favorite tree with her phone next to her. It is up to you!

3. Technical Things
  • Make sure your Zoom is ready to connect to the meeting. Sometimes it is helpful to go into the Zoom waiting room a bit early so that you are not stressed trying to get in at the last minute. If you are having trouble, contact mewithnancy@gmail.com

  • Set your phone to “do not disturb”. If you’d like to record the session, set it up ahead of time.

4. What to Do

The following are suggestions of things that can be helpful to do before receiving reiki to help you be in a more receptive state. T he reiki will be effective even if you do not do them.

  • Drink water so that you are hydrated.

  • Take a warm bath, spend time in nature, meditate, do yoga or even listen to music

  • Wear comfortable clothing

  • Bring a blanket

During the Session

Once the appointment begins, we will review your intention and any questions or concerns that you have. Then I will play music while you relax, and use appropriate crystals and symbols as the reiki is sent to you. There isn't anything that you need to be doing.

  • Keep an open mind. Put any skepticism or doubt to the side.

  • Try not to analyze or be critical of what you are feeling during the session. Everyone has a unique experience. It is ok if you do not feel anything or if you fall asleep. Know that it will be effective even if you do not experience any sensations. The energy is not coming from me, but rather through me. The energy is always positive, will go where it is needed, and will not cause harm.

  • Focus on your breath or recite a mantra, if you like. Your mantra can very simple, such as "peace" or "I am calm." If your mind wanders or you need to change position, it is fine. You are not being hypnotized. Simply get comfortable again and refocus.

After the Session

After the reiki has ended, I will turn off the music and you will gently return to a seated position. I will briefly review anything that I noticed while sending reiki to you. I recommend you drink a glass of water following the Zoom.

You may want to note how you feel after the session. Often people feel more relaxed, aligned and clear after the session. During the day, observe any different feelings or thoughts about situations that you may have. Your perspective or view may be different.

I aim to make your reiki experience a relaxing, positive one. Your healing will be personalized and be what you specifically need that day for your highest good. You will find that reiki is helpful when your stressed or sad, but can also be beneficial when you want to feel lighter and rejuvenated.

I look forward to meeting with you soon! If you have any additional questions about the reiki session, please contact me at mewithnancy@gmail.com . To book a new appointment, click on the link below.

A Beginner's Guide to the Akashic Records

Imagine there was a book of YOU that held all of your experiences, thoughts, and feelings. Take it a step further and imagine that this book also holds the information from numerous past lives that your soul experienced. You can open it anytime you like to understand yourself better and help you move forward in this lifetime.

That's what you get with The Akashic Records: an enormous library that holds these special books. Each person has a book that is just for them. In fact, there is a book for each animal, plant and even the home you live in right now. Anyone can access their book, but it takes some practice and effort for most people. In this quick guide, I'll answer some of the most common questions I hear about the Akashic Records, so that you learn what it is and get the most out of your Akashic Records session.

Where is the Akashic Records? How can I get there?

Imagine that we are on the 3-D level. Akashic Records, this enormous library, is on the 5-D level. Anyone can access the Akashic Records through the mind. People can access the Akashic Records in all sorts of ways. Most people begin with a prayer (non-religious) that is repeated three times. After this, some people visualize taking an elevator up to this library, seeing actual bookshelves with the books and taking theirs off of the shelf. They are able to read the text, while others imagine sitting at a computer screen and watching different parts of their lives like a movie. Still others like me, do not visualize any of this at all, and simply have a different feeling come over them and get sounds, words, or symbols. There’s no way to know how you will be able to access the records until you try. For some it comes easily, but for others it takes daily practice. Some can learn to do it on their own from a book, but some take a class via Zoom or in person.

Many people also decide to have someone else read their book for them rather than learning to do it on their own. We call these people "Akashic Records Readers" typically. Every reader has their own unique way of relaying the messages in your book using their own method and style. This allows you to get new or different information that you have not received before or in quite the same way. For this reason, even experienced readers, like myself, will have others go into the Records for them.

What can I ask to see or learn in my book?

Once your book is opened, you can ask any question about anything in this lifetime or in past lives, as well. There are librarians in Akashic Records to assist, along with your spiritual team (your soul, guardian angel and other guides).

Since the future is unwritten and you have free will, it is best not to use your time to ask specifics about that. They will often not give you an answer. No lottery numbers and game results for any of us, unfortunately. Often you can get answers as to how two different outcomes may be if you follow the path that you are on now, but they will not tell you which way is best. It is up to you to decide.

By the way, you absolutely can ask about things that are not as intense as life purpose in Akashic Records. You can ask about things to do this weekend, hobbies to try, or vacation plans. It is fun!

Why do I need to prepare questions ahead of time for my session?

Sometimes you get caught up in what is being said and it is hard to remember exactly what you had hoped to learn. Sometimes you did not even know all of the potential things you could ask.

That is why I recommend that you take some time ahead of our session to look over possible questions and plan a few questions to ask. We may not get to them all, but it will make better use of your time if you come prepared.

What questions should I ask?

The best questions begin with “How” or “What” rather than yes/no questions. I recommend that your questions be specific, as they typically will only answer or show you what is asked. When asking about past lives, know that they typically will only show you one as it relates to this lifetime.

What if I don’t have anything to ask?

You can simply ask your spirit team what general messages you need to know at this point in time.

Will they tell me they are disappointed in me for a decision I made last year?

They are your biggest supporters and cheerleaders. They are YOU! The messages you receive will be full of love and encouragement. Yes, they may offer suggestions of what to do, but, again, you have free will to take that advice or not. Going into the records can help you make informed decisions and provide the clarity you need whenever you need it.

Can I ask more questions once we are in the Records?

Of course! Neither one of us is in a trance or hypnotized, so you can freely ask questions in the records to clarify or expand upon anything you hear during the reading.

I still don’t know what to ask. Can you give me some ideas?
